Lets Get Control

In 2006 I was deejaying 5 nights a week between my residencies and all the gigs we were doing as The Bangers. After years of looking for gigs it felt like I had turned a corner as there was more work than we could hold down and we had gained notoriety in New York City's downtown scene. There were a lot of amazing deejays and collectives at the time and our name was thrown around with some of my favorites. One of those collectives was Hollertronix, a pair of deejays that rocked parties in a similar genre bending way as us. Sway was fire on Mondays. So when Diplo and Low Budget asked if we wanted to be included on Hollertronix #4 we were stoked.

Let's Get Control is a mashup of Dead Prez's Hip Hop and Janet Jackson's Control. It's a fairly straightforward blend of the Dead Prez beat and the "acapella" of Control from the 12". It's still 🔥!
